Today was an awfully nice day to start the week out! We had a freewrite right at the beginning of the morning:

After the freewrite, we started on our class book, Cricket in Times Square. We discussed the details that happened in the first chapter, and focused on the skill of making inferences using the details from the story combined with our own personal experience and knowledge.
After recess, we focused on math; today we delved into the wonderful world of.......fractions!
Coming back from lunch, we had a little R.T.S. session and then read the second chapter of Cricket in Times Square. We made additional inferences for this chapter.
After recess, we talked about the rubric for the biography speech, and discussed why plants rely on animals for pollination.
