Onion Breath

Happy Monday everyone!

For reading today, we discussed figurative language (metaphor, simile, hyperbole, personification):

metaphor n. Comparing two things without using like or as.
                     Life's a rollercoaster

simile n. Comparing two things using like or as.
Your room looks like a dump.

personification n. Giving human characteristics to something nonhuman.
The sun was smiling down on me.

hyperbole n. A great exaggeration.
I already talked to you about it a gazillion times!

Click for a game on figurative language!
We also started our slides for our CA Missions report. It was a doozy, but we managed to make our first slide, with a picture and everything! Yay!

For math we learned about intersecting, perpendicular, and parallel lines.

After math we did our spelling pre-test, went over Class Dojo points, and listened to a restaurant review:

 Restaurant Review: Crab & Clam

In the afternoon, we did some R.T.S, listened to some more restaurant reviews and looked for cause and effect in Social Studies:

Restaurant Review: Cheesecake Factory

Restaurant Review: Pizza Chicago

That's Monday for you! Cheers!
