Grilled Artichokes

Hi folks!

In the morning, on this fine Monday, we discussed proper test-taking skills, and started the the first half of our summative test for English/Language Arts.

We then used the computer cart to enrich our learning through the Lexia/Dreambox software.

After recess, we reviewed concepts concerning integers in preparation for the assessment tomorrow:

Zero is not an integer though!
After math, we took a spelling pre-test, and then we read an article about the Hupa Native American Shamans. We highlighted important details in the article in order to help us with our summary of the article.

The Hupa society, were the few Native American tribes with female shamans.

Coming back from lunch, we had R.T.S., and wrote our summary on the Hupa shaman article. We then delved into Social Studies, and discussed how the ancestors of Native American used a land bridge known as Beringia during the Ice Age to get to North America from Northern Asia. We also talked about how Native American cultures pass on their heritage to future generations.

And that's Monday for you! Cheers!
