Wednesday Afternoon, 3 P.M.

Salutations folks! There was some confusion as to how to complete the spelling homework from yesterday. Since the students will be using the same organizer today for their reading vocabulary, I thought I might show an example:

Today in Reading, students used applied their collaboration skills in Think-Pair-Shares. They discussed reasons why Akiak is structured the way it is. Students also used critical thinking skills to answer under-the-surface questions that dealt with story structure and comprehension.

In math, we reviewed concepts taught over the past two weeks in preparation for the free-response chapter test tomorrow. Here's an additional resource if you need it! Here's another one too! Any extra practice will do wonders!

After lunch we continued class talking about turning our class interviews into "newspaper" paragraphs. We discussed proper introduction, adding details to explanations in the body of the paragraph, and a strong conclusion to close up the paragraph. Here are some rough drafts from a few students:
