We started out his story finishing up the story Boss of the Plains. We collaborated over the course of reading the story, discussing our viewpoints and thoughts about John Stetson and his "Boss of the Plains" hat. Here's the audio to Boss of the Plains by the way:
Afterwards, we had P.E. with Mr. Wood, focusing on the finer points of flag football. During the middle of P.E., we had an earthquake drill, and focused on the finer points of duck and cover!
After P.E. we started our new topic in math. We focused on what a variable and an expression was.

After math, we filled in our assignment notebook, and then reviewed the last lesson of of the Ecosystem chapter. When we got back from lunch, we had science lab with Mrs. Daly and dissected an owl pellet. Our discoveries, needless to say, were truly astounding!
Coming back from afternoon recess, we played a matching game that involved placing plural nouns into the right categories. We created a tree map afterwards:
