Another Wednesday came and went, but not without some learning involved! We started the day out with a little Phys. Ed. with Mr. Wood. Afterwards the students collaborated and came up with a generalization of what Pioneers on the Oregon trail had for dessert:
We then started to read a portion of Boss of the Plains. Students utilized think-pair-shares to illustrate their understanding of the story. Ask your child about what happened so far in the story! It's a good one! And here's a video about John Stetson, the main character of our story, and his Boss of the Plains hat:
Here's a video on how Stetson hats are made:
And here is the audio for Boss of the Plains:
After recess, we reviewed our math homework and took the Topic 4 math assessment.
| Hooray for multiplication! |
When we were done filling out our assignment notebook after math, we reviewed lesson 2 and lesson 3 of our science chapter on Ecosystems. After lunch we went to the library, got some books, and did Read to Self. We also listened to another chapter of Road Dahl's The Witches. When we came back from afternoon recess, we continued reading and discussing Boss of the Plains!
That's Wednesday for you folks! Excelsior!
