We started this murky day off with a freewrite! Here's what some peeps wrote:

Afterwards we read letters that students wrote to various presidents throughout the year. We then did a cause/effect exercise with these letters:

We then headed out for some soccer training with Mr. Wood! Here's a display of awesome soccer skills from some of the world's finest:

After recess, we got into math, learning how to use inverse operations to solve multiplication and division equations:

Afterwards, we filled out our assignment notebook, and read a few more freewrites and a vocab a story:

We then continued to work on our response-to-literature writing. We continued to look for moments in Akiak, where a character displayed a moment of P.R.I.D.E.:

After lunch, we had R.T.S, had a mini-lessons on pronouns, and continued to work on our C.A. regions poster.

Near the end of the day, we had a musical clean-up party; we organized and tidied up our desks and the classroom itself. The classroom is a bit more tidy, and bit more neat. Work-in-progress as they say.

Listening to this students' song requests made me realize how old I am. Kelly Clarkson's debut was 10 years ago! Maroon 5's debut album came out 11 years ago! Owl City's "Fireflies" came out four years ago! Holy smokes! Anyways. I'm glad that some music I'm listening to is still relevant today! Yay!
