We started this Friday out doing a freewrite:

And we had a student read her "resolutions" writing:

Afterwards we, reread Happy Birthday Dr. King and took assessments that dealt with the story, cause/effect, and making inferences. We also took our weekly spelling test.
After recess, we analyzed word problems in order to write out appropriate equations in order to solve those problems. After math, we continued to work on our response-to-literature writing.
Coming back from lunch, we had R.T.S. and then had a go with non-fiction texts in the form of Scholastic News.
We we're going to get down with our regions poster in the afternoon, but the fire drill got in the way of that. Boo! Near the end of the day, we were prepped for Art Vista next week; there was a discussion on materials that would be used to design our masks and how we could incorporate elements of art into our design. Can't wait!
Throughout the day, whenever we had a free moment, we read parts of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Everyone seemed to be entranced with the story!
Well that's Friday folks! I hope you all have a great weekend! As for me, I got to help my sister move to her new place on Saturday, and then on Sunday, I'm going to nerd out and partake in a Pokemon pre-release tournament! Yay!
