Tuesday's Chow

Howdy folks!

We started this excellent day out going over P.R.I.D.E. in the classroom and in other areas of the school. Nothing like a refresher on the rules! We then segued into a free write. Here's what some people wrote:

Dawson:

Maddie:

Stella:

We then started to discuss how to predict outcomes using supporting details from the texts. We read aloud a short story about a king who tests his subjects to see if they are willing to help one another out, and we used the details from the story to make a prediction.

After recess, we got down with adding and subtracting fractions with similar denominators. We made sure to turn our answers into simplest form! It was a cinch today, but tomorrow we're going to grind through adding fractions with UNLIKE denominators! Yikes! We'll get through it though, for sure!

Click on us for a tutorial and adding and subtracting fractions with like decimals!

After lunch, we had some R.T.S, did a spelling pre-test, and read the first half of My Name is Maria Isabel. We predicted what was going to happen next in the story using details in the story to help us with our prediction. That's about it folks! Cheers!
