Sunshine Monday!

Howdy folks! I hope you're all having a swell three-day weekend so far, because I sure am!

On Friday I went to this sushi place called Kazoo Sushi in Campbell; it's a pretty nice place to get sushi, if you're into that sorta thing. I'm personally a big fan of Saba (mackerel):

Ohm nom nom nom!

And I also left my comfort zone and tried out a roll with natto, which is fermented soybean:

Mhmmm....slimy soybeans.

Let's just say it tasted....mushy. And slimy too. If someone gave it to me, I guess I'd eat it, otherwise I wouldn't go out of my way to buy natto again. Not my cup of tea.

Saturday, was a relaxing day; I ran seven miles, which is a major feat for me as I haven't been doing any long distance training for awhile! Hooray for me! I spent the rest of Saturday eating ramen noodles at Santouka Noodle House, which is located in the Mitsuwa Market in Saratoga:

I had pork ramen with a seasoned egg and rice on the side. Yum!

In case, you haven't noticed, I love food. I will try anything and everything. Bugs included. I'm that adventurous.

Anyways, I also spent about six hours of my Saturday partaking in a Friends marathon. It's an "old" show, but a goodie:

One of my favorite shows of all time.
On Sunday, I celebrated my future mother-in-law's birthday by taking her out to Hobbee's, a diner/breakfast place known for their blueberry coffee cake:

Along with the coffee cake, I had the tamale pie with over easy eggs and country potatoes.

Why did I eat all of this?
It was a gut buster of a meal, and all that food sat in my stomach like a ton of bricks for the entire day. When your stomach says stop, you should stop. I should've listened.

This weekend was the Pokemon So-Cal Regional tournament as well. The tournament was held on the Queen Mary in Long Beach. I could not make make it, so I decided to play some Pokemon with my buddies on Sunday as well.

Couldn't make it here to play Pokemon....
So I played at local games store my buddies instead. I'll go next time.

Oh, quick blurb, there's a Pokemon Prerelease at Game Kastle (a game store in Santa Clara) next Sunday:

If you wanted to get into the Pokemon Trading Card Game, this would be the perfect way to do it! I hope to see a few of you there next weekend!

Today is going to be another nice day, with it being sunny and all. And It's MLK day too! Fun and excitement all around!

Here's what our President has to say about the great Dr. Martin Luther King:

Well let's talk about the upcoming week! In English/Language Arts, we going to be reading a story concerning Dr. Martin Luther King and focusing on the comprehension skill of finding cause and effect. Students will focus on why things happen (the causes) and the results, or effects.

Besides cause and effect, we're also going to be revisiting making predictions using clues and supporting details from the text.

We're going to continue finishing up or "resolutions" writing, as well as continue to hone our writing abilities when it comes to responding to text/literature.

In math we're going to be heading into the wonderful world of solving algebraic equations! Man, I recall being introduced to this type of math when I was in 7th grade! The times sure have changed!

And we're continue to work on our CA regions poster. It should be done by the end of this week!

Well that's it for now folks! Enjoy the sunshine and the extra day off!
