Today was an intense day of assessments as we threw down and tackled a spelling test, an AR quiz, a reading comprehension assessment, an assessment on noting details, and finally, a Social Studies chapter assessment. Whew!
We did get a chance to sprinkle in some math; we discussed what multiples are, and also focused on skip-counting and looking for patterns in multiplication.
We also got a chance to focus a bit more on our writing, and discussed how to use editing marks to proofread our work and our peers' work.
And throughout the day whenever, we had a free moment we got to work on and share our freewrites:
Write about yourself. Maybe the class doesn't know that you play the drums, or how you got that scar on your right arm. You could write about some of your hobbies or any exciting experiences that you had. Make sure you give details and explain!
-OR-
Come up with a story and write it! Make sure you give details and elaborate!
I'm big on sharing our work because I feel that it builds confidence in the students and reassures them that their written pieces are awesome. Awesomeness should be celebrated! Anyways, we got chances throughout the day to take a break from thsoe gnarly assessments, and listen to some of our peers' stories and essays:

That's Friday for you folks! Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
